Service: Thursday November 1, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home


Mercedes Watson Rayburn passed away on October 26 at 89 years of age.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Fred and Myrtie Conger Watson, her husband of 51 years, J. Robert Rayburn, infant daughter Pamela Rayburn, long time companion Bob Thompson, half brother Robert Fritts, brothers Donald Watson and Fred Dale Watson and sisters Velda Kelly, Corrine York, Deanie Wallace and Gracie Hedgepath.

Mercedes is survived by a son, Ron (Carla) Rayburn of Mandeville, LA, daughter Gaile Rayburn Barnett (Stephen) of Reidland, two grandsons, Eddie and Josh Rayburn, two granddaughters, Emily Rayburn Cottle (Robert) and Amanda Barnett Johnson (Shawn), and seven great grandchildren.

She loved gardening, going for walks, spending time with her family, especially her great grand children, and her dog Libby. She had the imagination of a child, an abundance of patience an independent spirit and brought life to everyone she encountered. Sud always put others first and loved without boundaries while bringing out the best in others. She was a beautiful woman, but her outer beauty was merely a reflection of her amazing inner beauty. She defined class, was a true lady and will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.

Services will be at Myers Funeral Home in Marion, KY Thursday, November 1st with visitation at 11 a.m. the funeral following at 1 pm. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery.
