Leonard Jewell Belt

Leonard Jewell Belt, age 83 of Marion, KY went to his heavenly home at Baptist Health, Madisonville on December 9th with his family at his side. Jewell was born in Lola, KY on March 23, 1935 to James H. and Cenia (Dunning) Belt. He was a former coal miner by trade and retired from Dotiki Coal Mines. He proudly served in the United States Army as a crane operator stationed with the 68th Engineer Company in Schwetgingen, Germany. Jewell also served in the Army National Guard. He was recognized for serving during the Berlin Crisis. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Madeline (Crider) Belt, Marion, KY; daughters, Terri (Rick) Weir, Paducah, KY and Sherri (Steve) Corbin, Smyrna, TN; two grandchildren Adam & Amanada Weir; sister, Velva Walker, Evansville, IN and brother, Donald Belt, Lola, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, 4 brothers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 1 PM at Myers Funeral Home, Marion, KY with burial in Mapleview Cemetery. Friends may call at Myers Funeral Home beginning at 11 AM Wednesday and continuing until the time of the funeral service.
