Much like the symbolism of the cardinals she adored, Beverly Bleuer held a deep faith and a belief in the promise of eternal life. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20 at the age of 90. Bev, a devout Seventh Day Adventist, grew up in the church where she met her husband, Edwin Bleuer. The two enjoyed singing together, with Ed often accompanying Bev with the whistles of their favorite birds. They raised a family together, nurturing their son, Cam, and daughter, Terri, and spoiling their grandchildren and later great grandchildren with love and adventures.
Later in life, Bev enjoyed volunteering at Crittenden County Elementary School where the children looked forward to seeing “Ms. Bev,” likely because of the pink mints she always had handy. She delighted in sharing the stories of the students whose lives she touched. She also became a pro Bingo player, often spending her winnings on gifts for her great grandchildren. Bev shared her love for God with all and especially enjoyed sharing the gospel with children in sabbath school.
Bev is preceded in death by her mother, Marvel Nelson, and loving husband, Edwin Bleuer. She is survived by her sister, Bunny Johnson (Bill Johnson), brother, Donald Callahan (Donna Callahan), son, Cameron Bleuer, daughter Terri Hart (Arnold Hart), grandchildren Melora Potter (Tom Potter), Brian Hart (Danielle Hart), Nicole Bleuer, Jenna Haugen, and Brian Hart. Bev adored her great grandchildren Samantha Bleuer, Karsyn Potter, Presley Potter, Cade Hart, Kyler Hart, and Raelynn Bleuer.
Bev will be laid to rest at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Glenville, MN next to her beloved husband. There will be a graveside service with family when arrangements can be made. We are reminded, “Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear. When you see a Cardinal, your loved one is near!”
