James Myers Obituary

James (J.D.) Myers age 82 of Marion, KY passed away March 5, 2014 at Crittenden Health Systems. Mr. Myers had retired as a consultant in the steel industry. He was the owner of Myers Bed and Breakfast in Marion, KY, a member of Marion Christian Church, a member of Crittenden Hospital auxiliary and had served on the Marion Tourism Board. He was very active in community affairs having played Santa in many Christmas parades and had also been Grand Marshall. He served as bus driver and host for years for the Marion Bobcats Baseball Team. He transported Amish and was recognized by the Crittenden County Chamber of Commerce as “Unsung Hero”. He is survived by his wife, Merle Myers, Marion, KY; son, Craig (Martha) Myers, Baytown, TX. Daughters, Vicki (Bubba) King, Marion, KY and April (Randy) Lunsford, Cleveland, TX; brothers, Delmar Myers, Portage IN and Wayne Myers, Sullivan, KY; sister, Hazel Lee Ford, Portage, IN; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his parents, William Lewis and Hazel Hayes Myers, a daughter, Dotti Wooley, grandson Michael Jones, two brothers and one sister. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday March 8, 2014 at 7 P.M. at Myers Funeral Home, Marion, KY. Visitation will be held Saturday at Myers Funeral Home from 3 P.M. until service time at 7 P.M. Arrangements: A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday March 8, 2014 at 7 P.M. at Myers Funeral Home, Marion, KY.
