Joyce Laquetta (Taylor) Gardner

Laquetta Joyce Taylor Gardner of Marion, KY entered into her heavenly home at the age of 82 on Friday, October 27, 2023. 

Preceded in death by her husband William Travis Gardner, her parents Hanley and Myrtle Taylor, and brother Eddie Ray Taylor. She is survived by her 5 children: Mark (Katherine) Gardner of Dixon, KY; Barry (Denise) Gardner of Shelbyville KY; Jan (Kirk) Strickland, ; Nancy Fidler (Russ Petrucha), and Richard (Amanda) Gardner of Marion KY; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren. 

Joyce Taylor was born on an early Sunday morning July 6, 1941 in Melvindale MI to Hanley and Myrtle Taylor. She married Travis Gardner on October 10, 1958 in Shawneetown IL before moving to Lockport. This is where they birthed and raised their four children. In 1988, Joyce and Travis retired to the farm in Marion KY where they both lived out their lives. 

The visitation will be on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Myers Funeral Home in Marion from 11:00 am -1:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. Graveside will be at White Oak Cemetery in Clay following the funeral services. In memory of Joyce Gardner, donations can be made to Hospice, Paducah.
