Nancy King Paris age 82 of Fredonia passed away at 2:15 PM, August 14, 2023 at her home.
Beloved by all, she gracefully lived her life and was an active member of her community. She graduated from Owen County Schools and Margaret Hall in Versailles, KY. She earned a degree in physical education from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s from Kentucky State University. She was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority and was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Versailles, KY and attended Pleasant Hill Regular Baptist Church in Crittenden County.
Throughout her life Nancy held many positions and volunteered in numerous organizations including the Lexington Junior League, Community Arts Foundation, Caldwell County Historical Society, Fredonia Valley Heritage Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Crittenden County Extension Homemakers, Woman’s Club of Marion and the Society for Preservation of Southern Harmony. She was a school teacher, worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the labor department and human resource office, conducted the local Delta Project health survey, and was office manager for William Ralph Paris Land Surveyor. She enjoyed horses, swimming, sewing and spending time with her family.
Nancy is survived by her husband, William Ralph Paris, Jr; children,
Nancy Drake; Susan (Fred) Sanders; Matthew (Karen) Paris; Martha (Zak) Smith; grandchildren, Merry, Sarah and Charity Drake; Freddy and Phoebe Sanders; Darren, Zachary and Benjamin Paris; Zak, Aidan, Zane, Zade and Pansy Smith; brother, Richard King.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Elliott & Phoebe Anne Worth King and a brother, Bruce King III.
Funeral services will be held 2PM, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Myers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday between the hours of 5 and 8 PM at Myers Funeral Home and beginning Saturday at 8 AM and continuing until service time at 2 PM.
