Otho Bush Obituary

Otho Lee Bush, age 89, of Marion, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Born on November 11, 1936, Brother Bush lived a life marked by unwavering faith, service to others, and a deep love for his family and community.

Brother Bush was a devoted servant of God who faithfully answered the call to ministry. Over the years, he planted churches, pastored congregations, and shared the Gospel through radio and online ministry. He also sponsored and hosted Gospel music broadcasts, using every avenue available to spread the message of Christ. His life reflected the words of Matthew 25:23: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Before his retirement, Brother Bush worked diligently for many years on the railroad, providing for his family with integrity and dedication. Yet, his true life’s work was serving the Lord and caring for others. Known for his kindness and charitable spirit, he spent countless hours visiting hospitals and nursing homes, praying with the sick and offering comfort to those in need. He truly lived out Galatians 6:2: “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

His days often began in quiet devotion—reading his Bible and lifting up prayers for his family and for the nation. He found joy in the simple things: walking outdoors, greeting neighbors, and taking his daily trips to the post office or bank. Those who knew him will remember his gentle spirit, warm presence, and steadfast faith.

Brother Bush was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Carrie Glenn Bush, for over 47 years—a testament to enduring love and commitment. Together, they built a family rooted in faith.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Joyce, Otho Jr. (Ann), and Tommy; and his stepdaughter, Shelia. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debra, stepdaughter Tammy, and granddaughter Julia. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, including Savannah (Richard), Nikkita, Jessica, Jimmy, Jennifer (Jeremy), Sarah, Jonathan, Ashley, Matthew, Elisha, Tonya, Lee, and Katie, along with many great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of faith and love.

While his absence leaves a deep void, we take comfort in God’s promise found in 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” Brother Lee’s life was a living testimony of this truth.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Myers Funeral Home in Marion, Kentucky, with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM until the time of service.

Brother Bush has now entered into eternal rest, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him, and welcomed into the presence of his Savior, whom he faithfully served.
