Ronald Dale Padget

Ronald “Ron” Dale Padget age 81 of Marion, KY passed away Tuesday September 19, 2023 at his home.

Ron was a member of Marion First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a general contractor for 64 years. He spent many hours in community service volunteering at the local food bank and served as president of the Mattoon Fire Department. He organized Christmas lighting at the Crittenden County Courthouse and was the chairman of The Heritage Day’s Festival committee and was named Volunteer of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed bowling and growing flowers in his nursery.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Padget, Marion, KY; son, David Padget, Springfield, IL; daughter, Michelle (Tim) Perry, Normal, IL; step-son, Brent (Virginia) Krug, San Bernadino, CA; grandchildren, Trenton and Jordyn Perry and Michael and Kyle Padget; sisters, Betty McGill and Carol Noonan Springfield, IL; Janet Dunaway, Granite City, IL; several nieces and nephews and a sister and brother in law.

He was preceded in deathg by his parents, Dale and Marguerite Cook Padget; sister, Cathy Barber.

Visitation will begin at 11 AM Saturday, September 23,2023 at Myers Funeral Home and continue until the time of the service at 1 PM. Private graveside services will be held at Leamington Cemetery in Junctiin, IL. at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made either to the Mattoon Volunteer Fire Department or Mercy Health Hospice. Envelopes for those donations will be available at the funeral home.
