Shirley May Sunderland age 85 of Marion, KY passed away Saturday,

January 10, 2026 at Select Medical in Evansville, IN.

Born in Hammond, IN she graduated from Hammond Clark High School in 1958.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Shirley is survived by daughters, Gwen (Todd Murray) Davis, Madison, IN; Betsy Harrod, Paducah, KY; Sue Perry, Golden, CO; Gretchen (David) Brown, Paducah, KY; Terri (Ken) Pryor, Marion, KY; grandchildren, Brandi Anderson, Leslie Sunderland,Heather Wyatt, Natasha Perry, Lucas Davis, Dalton Pryor; 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; sisters, Dora Smith, Helen Lee, Judy Satkowski, Sarah Bishop,Sheryl Saucedo; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie “Wahoo”Sunderland;parents, Leo Donald and Elsie Marie Christian Powell; brothers,

Donald, Arthur, Earnest, & Kenneth Powell; sister, Betty Mattingly; one great grandson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Myers Funeral Home with burial in Salem Cemetery. Friends may visit beginning at 11 AM and continuing until service time.
