Stella Frances Brown, 88, of Salem, KY (formerly of Evansville), went home to be with the Lord, Friday May 27, 2022 at home surrounded by family.
Stella was born in Clay, KY on July 16, 1933 to Lofton and Ora Dean Butler. At the age of 70, she obtained her GED and then went on to become a Certified Herbalist. She was also a teacher of her culture with the Cherokee people. Stella was active in her church, Grace Baptist in Frances, KY.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 60 years, William (Bill) Brown.
She is survived by her five children; Bill (Linda) Brown, Kuttawa, KY; Debbie (Bob) Mills, Henderson, KY; Gail (Krohn) McKinney, Evansville, IN; Terrie Brown (formerly of Denver, CO) Salem, KY; Pam (Darren) Webster, Evansville, IN; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Her Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 2 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 4517 KY-91, Crayne, KY, officiated by Brother John Robertson. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society (Leukemia), 3140 Parisa Dr., Paducah, KY 42003 or Downs Syndrome Non-Profit Organization, 5001 S. Hurstbourne Pky. Louisville, KY 40291.
